This website is work in progress. Considering my various
time commitments, it will take a while for it to mature
to where I would like it to be. My vision is that when
it is done, it would be a highly useful resource to people
interested in areas that I am interested in, areas which
include:
• Land Use Policy, growth management, urban revitalization,
farmland and natural resource preservation, and resource
conservation.
• Agricultural viability, sustainability and marketing
at the urban fringe.
• Industrial organization and Economic development
policy in the food industry.
• Emerging food systems.
As a land grant scholar and later Executive Dean of Agriculture
and Natural Resources, I am particularly interested in
public access to the resources of academia for the improvement
of public understanding. This is particularly so for areas
related to public policy. In this day and age, we should
all strive to utilize the web in getting our work in the
hands of those who could benefit from it. Some of my papers
will obviously be of benefit to those interested in the
issues that have inspired me. To the extent to which some
of my work are related to your interest in these issues,
you can request copies of my papers, reports and publications
by sending an email to adelaja@aesop.rutgers.edu.
This Website is linked to other important Websites that
are of obvious interest to my Website visitors:
As founder of the Food Policy Institute and its first
director, I am extremely proud of the progress and accomplishments
of the institute. I believe it is important for readers
to avail themselves of the quality research being conducted
there; the outreach to the agricultural, food wholesale,
food retail, food manufacturing, and food service industries,
as well as to policy decision makers; and the industry
development efforts and partnerships that make FPI unique.
As faculty member and former chair of the Department of
Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics at Rutgers,
I am excited about sharing the exciting work of the department
with visitors.
As founder of the Food
Innovation Research and Extension Center in Bridgeton,
New Jersey, I am proud of the impact that this outlying
food station is having on New Jersey industry.
Obviously, links are provided to Cook
College, New
Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station and Rutgers
Cooperative Extension which I was responsible for
as Executive Dean of Agriculture and Natural Resources
at Rutgers.
You will also see linkages to various organizations that
I am connected with as a director, board member, or affiliate.
